Ice Cream Cone – Free Crochet Pattern

Hi guys! I’m so excited to show you my latest creation: a crocheted Ice Cream Cone!

by_ice-cream-cone_main10

I started working on an crocheted Ice Cream Cone some months ago. I made six different prototypes but I didn’t like how those turned out, so I quit working on it for a while. Then, a couple of weeks ago I was inspired by the summer weather (and my love for ice cream) to continue working on this pattern. And I just love the end result!

by_ice-cream-cone_main8

I made one cone with vanilla ice cream and colorful sprinkles and the other one with strawberry ice cream and a bright red cherry on top.

Look at those colorful sprinkles on the vanilla ice cream cone!

So here’s the crochet pattern so you can make your own Ice Cream Cones for this summer season (or any season!).

CROCHET PATTERN

Crochet Level: Basic – Intermediate

Crochet terms and abbreviations:
The pattern is worked using US Crochet Terms. Conversions to UK terms are shown below in parentheses:
• mr – magic ring (UK=magic ring)
• sc – single crochet (UK=double crochet)
• sl – slip stitch (UK=slip stitch)
• inc(sc) – increase in single crochet (UK=increase in double crochet)

Final size: About 6.1 in. (15.5 cm.) tall if you use DK weight yarn and a 3.00 mm. crochet hook.

Supplies:
• DK weight (light/3) yarn:
I used Omega Sinfonía yarn in colors “Tender Pink” for the strawberry ice cream, “Bone” for the vanilla ice cream, “Wheat” for the cone and “Granate” for the cherry. Feel free to use any color of your choice to make a personalized ice cream cone!
• 3.00 mm. crochet hook
• Yarn needle, stitch markers and scissors
• Stuffing material of your choice

Notes:
• Crochet very tight and stuff very firmly.
• You can make a bigger ice cream cone by using a larger size of hook and thicker yarn.
